SANDING JIG |
I down-loaded an article from WOOD Magazine about Ray Allen and segmented bowls. In this article, they had the plans for this sanding jig that Ray used and how to accurately set up the sanding guides. I built one and it works great. Its pretty self explanatory. Mine is built for a Delta Sanding Center and can be used on both the disc or the belt tables. The important thing is to have the fence at a perfect right angle to the disc or belt. I made the base from 1/2 birch plywood and attached a 3/8-inch x 3/4-inch miter slot guide on the bottom with glue and brads. The fence as well as the sanding guides are made from pieces of red oak.
